[Wizard][General][Armor] Everfrost Armor

As Season 3 launched the new wizard Everfrost Armor Set released as well. The set seems to be mainly focusing on complementing the frost wizard play style which I think works as intended but I do have some feedback looking at it from a general wizard perspective.

This is all from my point of view as I want to open a discussion and try to help shape the class into the right direction.

Everfrost Hat [FINE IMO]

Trait: Stormborn Precision

Critically hitting a target summons a Blizzard or a Flame Pillar at their location

Can not occur more than once ever 15sec.

Frost

For frost it is a really cool addition as spawning blizzards on crits gives your something more to play around and also it helps with the frostbite buildup.

Fire

For fire basically it lets you choose between spellweave hat to be able to trigger Q yourself or rather have the RNG to randomly trigger it / trigger it with arclight on flame patches.

Feedback

I think that piece of gear is a good addition to the gameplay of both specs. Also it allows for quicker PvE clearspeed.

Everfrost Shoulders [PROBLEMATIC]

Trait: Temporal Chill

When Timewarp or Gravity Well end, the afflicted enemies become rooted by Frost Nova for a short duration.

Frost and Fire

Gravity Well
To have this addition for Gravity Well might be okay but it is hard to trigger it as you need to keep a person in the Well for the full duration in order to root them.

Timewarp

Currently this allows you to do crazy setups especially because the root does not break on damage and can more or less be cast “in safe distance” every 5 seconds.

Feedback

I think that with the current design of the trait the shoulders are very overtuned and too strong for both specs. I would suggest to keep the root trait for Gravity Well only and trigger the root after 4 seconds in the Gravity Well and not at the end.

Everfrost Robe [FINE IMO]

Trait: Cryo Conduit

While standing in a Leyline, you regenerate a small amount of Health over time.

Frost and Fire

I think both specs can use this mainly for PvE farm. Being static in solo PvP isn’t really too much of an option so the trait becomes more or less teamplay heavy.

Note
I know that currently Frost Wizards heal after sliding due to the quick charge effect being coded as standing in a Leyline which makes it very strong to play but as I found out this is about to be fixed as I am writing.

Feedback

I think the chest piece is a valid addition to both specs as the amount you heal per tick is more than white pots do on wizard. (25 | 22)

Everfrost Pants [FINE IMO]

Trait: Frozen Reflex

Evade Attacks activate Ice Armor for a short duration.

Can not occur more than once ever 15sec.

Frost

This pants give the frost wizard the possibility to slide in and not be staggered while he wants to play off of the slide, also it gives the possiblity to slide in range not being staggered by projectiles while casting.

Fire
This pants give the fire wizard the possibility to gain unstoppable in melee combat to be able to cast a spell, be it arclight or tornado or Dragonsbreath. Previously the only possibility was to evade away everytime.

Feedback

I think both specs can make good use of this trait in both PvE and PvP and it is a good addition in the game as previously wizard was heavily relying on double or triple evading to cope with any melee pressure which annoyed people as the playstyle was very “chasey”
