Possible solution for Deathmatch presets

Hello,

Others have wrote about this and I have replied to their posts but I was worried that it would get buried under other feedback requests so I decided to create another post of my own.

Preset gear seems like the way to go with arenas, especially now, that it becomes a permanent feature with the next season, because it can give players a quick option to bang heads with each other without having to prefarm gear and mats and it also evens out the playing field, everyone has access to the same options which they can combine however they want.

BYOG could be kept as a separate option/bracket or for some last man standing type tournaments where players who get killed lose their gear to the winner.

As others have mentioned, I too agree that the preset system is poorly optimized at the moment, giving only some legendary items and not others, not giving items with gems, giving locked-in class tools and so on, however, it can be better and I think I know how.

You can add a squire type vendor in the vendors section that is carrying all of your gear for you to browse and choose before each battle. The concept is the same as one of those placeholder NPCs on WoW PTR servers that has all the gear and you choose whichever you want, with whatever gems and enchants you want so that you may go out there and do your thing as soon as possible.

The squire vendor should have a list of all weapons and armor in legendary form, a list of all rings(green + blue + legendary, because there is value in each of them, there are builds for some classes that make the best use of green rings for example) a list of all blue gems and the option to socket your selected items with said gems(like the Enchantress), a list of all the class tools and a list of all potions and bandages.

Once the desired gear has been selected by the player, they should have the option to lock it in for the next arena/arenas, with use ONLY in this environment.

Press ready and have fun! :p

Initially I thought of this exactly how I mentioned those WoW PTR NPCs, just add an NPC at the beginning of the Deathmatch, that you can turn to and get your gear but I noticed that there are no such forms of interaction within the game. Whether that’s by design or by some constraints, I don’t know, but the vendor version of such an NPC could be a working alternative.

Hope my input helps.
Love the game, keep it up!
