The combat currently feels too slow, and the player is locked into animations. A possible improvement would be allowing the dodge action to cancel any animation, making the gameplay faster and more reactive. This would also require better stamina management, since the player would need to use dodge more strategically instead of spamming it without consequence.
Another issue, although less critical than being locked into skill and attack animations, is the stagger effect after taking a hit. Instead of a full stagger, it would be more interesting to apply a brief movement slow (similar to how combat works in New World, for example). Right now, the player keeps getting staggered until becoming immune, but with two players attacking you at the same time, you are usually already dead before reaching that immunity state, which feels frustrating.
