Arena Idea:
Farming a set of purples is massively less of a time commitment over legendaries, people will still complain about gear gaps in arena, but at least the amount of PvE farming the sweaty PvP players need to do each season will be a lot less and then they can just sit there and play the game for fun, vs being forced to farm PvE for legendaries. This also means the average playerbase feels like they are on equal footing after farming a purple set vs the unattainable goal of farming a legendary set (which it is for average playerbase).
Personally we all know how gear scaling works in arenas work, people ask for it but we all saw how that turns out looking at other games. Having the max gear available to use in arena being legendary, that’s a mountain for the average player just to feel on the same equal footing, plus the safe exists (for some crazy reason) which means a returning player starts off the season with a legendary weapon legendary rings and a stack of legendary shards, so that returning player has 4-5 legendary pieces week 1 vs the average player.
This system doesn’t work with the current legendary gear, I’m submitting another post on legendary gear ideas since the current legendary gear set up entices players to hoard legendary gear instead of using it.
